The Grand Opening Ceremony for the "Hong Kong Satellite Manufacturing Centre" and "Hong Kong Satellite Operation Control and Application Centre" of ASPACE is scheduled to take place at the Advanced Manufacturing Centre (AMC) of Hong Kong on 25 July 2023, the headquarters of the Hong Kong Aerospace Technology Group Limited (HKATG) where the Centres are located. Around 100 guests from the United Nations, international organisations, space agencies from different countries, well-known space enterprises, and academia will participate in this milestone, invitation-only event.
Mr Mohamed AlAseeri, CEO of National Space Science Agency (Bahrain), Mr Salem Butti Al Qubaisi, Director General of UAE Space Agency, Mr Mo'amar Haddadin, Director General of the Royal Jordanian Geographic Centre, Mr Ahmed Chouaib, Chargé d'affaires of the Arab League to China and representatives from the Arab region, including eight Arab countries, namely Bahrain, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Mauritania, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as the Arab Information and Communication Technology Organization and the Arab Satellite Communication Organization, will join the event and have an on-site visit to HKATG’s Satellite Manufacturing Centre and the Satellite Operation Control and Application Centre, including the Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) facilities, Telemetry, Tracking and Command (TT&C) Centre, and the Satellite Data Application Centre. The representatives will also discuss potential collaboration and prospects with HKATG to see how HKATG’s satellite facilities, technologies and applications can benefit the space industry in the Arab States.
Presently, the Arab States pay high attention to the development of the space industry. The grand opening of the ASPACE Hong Kong Satellite Manufacturing Centre and the TT&C Centre is of great significance for actively promoting the development of the space industry and promoting global high-tech development and industrial structure adjustment in the Arab States.
