The Grand Opening Ceremony for the Hong Kong Satellite Manufacturing Center and Testing and Operations Control Application Center under Aspace Satellite Technology Limited (ASPACE) is scheduled to take place at the Advanced Manufacturing Centre (AMC) of Hong Kong on 25 July 2023. Around 100 guests from the United Nations, international organisations, space agencies from different countries, well-known space enterprises, and academia will participate in this milestone, invitation-only event.
Dr Khalid Abdulla Albuainain Almazrouei, Adviser to the UAE President for Technology, Adviser to Office of H.H. Supreme Commander of the Armed Force and Member of the Board of Directors of the United Arab Emirates Space Agency, will join the event, have an on-site visit of ASPACE's Satellite Manufacturing Centre and the Satellite Operation Control and Application Centre, including the Assembly, Integration and Testing (AIT) facilities, Telemetry, Tracking and Command (TT&C) Centre, and the Satellite Data Application Centre. The Satellite Manufacturing Centre is believed to be one of the largest in the Asia-Pacific region. And both sides will explore cooperation intentions and prospects in satellite manufacturing, data applications, launch services, and other aspects to promote relevant satellite facilities, technologies, and applications to benefit the development of the national aerospace industry and economic diversification in the UAE and Arab region.
The satellite manufacturing industry, satellite launch services, satellite testing and operation control technology, and satellite data are of strategic significance for developing the national space industry and transforming the economic structure. ASPACE hopes to contribute to the world's aerospace industry and economic development.
