On September 3, 2024, at the invitation of Dr Sherif, Chair of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space and Director General of the Egyptian Space Agency, Mr. Sun Fengquan, Chairman and CEO of USPACE, attended the New Space Horizons Conference 2024 as an important guest.
After the conference, USPACE had in-depth exchanges with Dr. Sheif, Chair of the United Nations Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space and Director General of the Egyptian Space Agency, Ali Al Shehhi, President of the UAE National Space Science and Technology Center, Mohamed Tamimi, Director General of the Saudi Space Agency, Salem Butti, Director General of the United Arab Emirates Space Agency, Mohamed AlAseeri, Director General of the Bahrain Space Agency, and Aarti Holla, Director General of the UN Office for Outer Space Affairs and over twenty heads of aerospace departments from various countries, on space cooperation and the development of USPACE's Egyptian space business, jointly discussed the development plan for remote sensing and communication constellations in Africa.
According to the strategic cooperation agreement signed between USPACE and the Egyptian Space Agency on May 23, 2024 and August 14, 2024, both parties are actively promoting multiple space projects, including plans to establish the Egypt USPACE Satellite Manufacturing Center, the Egypt USPACE Precision Manufacturing Center, the Egypt USPACE Satellite TT&C Center, and the Egypt USPACE Satellite TT&C Tower in Cairo, Egypt. According to the agreement, the equity ratio of the joint venture is tentatively set at USPACE holding 49% and the Egyptian Space Agency holding 51%.
This visit to Egypt has implemented the development direction and many specific details included in the strategic cooperation agreement signed with the Egyptian Space Agency. It is of great significance for USPACE to further explore the international market, especially the Middle East and North Africa market.
